World Heritage Sites in the UK

There are a number o sites in the UK recognised by Unesco as World Heritage Sites. There is a formal process that sites wishing to be added to the World Heritage List have to comply with. Further each country can only nominate one site per year for consideration by UNESCO for inclusion on the World Heritage List.
