The Lake district is near the Scottish border.
From the south you pass the old Roman town of Chester, where you can still
walk the city walls. Then past the old Industrial cities of Liverpool (with
its renovated docks) and Manchester, to the Lake District.
We have divided them up into three areas, Coniston and the southern part, Windemere and the central area, and Ullswater and the northern part. Click on the area of the map that you are interested in, and you will get more information and lots of photographs If you want a nice hotel to stay at, then try our Country House Hotels site And we have a full site on Cumbria and the Lake District Cumbria Calling if you need more |
