UK Car Hire in Britain
You will find the major players here. A lot depends on what premium you put on convenience - for example being able to pick you rental car up at the airport or railway station. The purchase of the franchise for that costs money, and you end up paying more, but without the hassle of trying to find an off site rental company.
British car rental companies tend to only open on somewhat catholic hours. For example we have found that even international companies renting cars in Oxford are closed from noon on Saturday until Monday morning ( and are several miles from the train station to boot, without offering courtesy transport). Let the buyer beware, and always ask about where you pick the car up in relation to where you are going to arrive, how you get to the depot and when it is closed.
